Metronome and recording ratchet notes
« on: December 16, 2016, 09:13:37 pm »
Hi,

For some reason the metronome has stopped working, any ideas?

When I record notes using the ' step / ratchet ' function only the 1/4 1/8 and 1/16 ths are played back. When I play 1/32 s they play correctly live but play back as 1/16ths. If I go to step mode I can set them as 1/32s Ok.

Both of these function were working fine for the first week but have been present for a few days now.

I successfully updated the firmware to latest this afternoon but the problems still persist, any ideas of what to try please?

Many thanks

Andy

Hi,
When you use the Roller to populate an instrument track in Record it plays the right division but if your pattern is in 1/16 and you try to populate in 1/32, it will play 1/32 but only write 1/16.
So make a 1/32 pattern or you have to use by hand ratcheting (hold a step and touch the roller strip at the division you want).

Hope it answers to your question

Okie dokie,   thanks for the replies....

I was using the headphone out for some effects processing experiments to compare sounds to the main mix out. When I removed the jack from the headphone socket the metronome works again. Is this correct? Not really an issue, just seems strange as the metronome already has on/ off switch.
I understand what you mean with populating tracks using the roller....I was just under the impression it would record the same as it sounded. Again, not a huge issue but would be a nice feature if this is possible in a future firmware update.

All in all, I'm loving using the drumbrute. Good work!

Hi akkida,

I understand that it could be quite disturbing but we decided to not touch step repeat while recording as you can't visualize them (1 step lit up -> 2 hits, some user may find an issue here too).
About the metronome it is the normal behavior. It allows you to listen metronome while playing without having it on master out (for live performances).
In fact if you use Metro Ind Out -> it cuts Metro from headphones and Master out
If you use head phones -> it cuts Metro from Master out

Thanks
Best
