USB Thru midi out

Hello,

It's possible to send the incoming message from the USB to the Midi out? I'm trying to send some notes from Ableton to a synth via midi channel 10. (PC->BeatStepPro->Synth).

hi Alsolcru i have  only been able to  route the usb midi data to the midi out of the beatstep pro with midi routing software like midi ox on windows

if you do work out a way to do it without the need for software i would be really interested

I'm trying to do the same thing. Even with routing in Reaper I am not getting it to work. I have MIDI-Ox but not sure how that would help.

dog01, could you tell us how exactly you got MIDI thru the BSP? that is, even with software.

usb computer bsp. bsp midi out din to midi in din of sound source my case (dw6000)

second usb controller to computer (my case edirol pcr m50)

open midi osx

options midi devices
click on all inputs
highlight the ones you want (i have all selected) 
_ see picture for details

midi outputs all expect Microsoft  gs synth and midi maper

now if you press a key on your controller you should hear a sound from your sound module

just be aware that it only works for notes and that it every easy to get midi stuck note

midi in2 is sequencer data and should be enabled in reaper

thanks for showing all the steps! i'm a little confused by it and i think i will have to come back to this later.
one thing - i thought the MIDIINPUT2 and MIDIOUTPUT2 were designating the device when it is in control mode- heard that somewhere but it may be incorrect.

maybe i don't know    all i know is  that reaper would not record sequencer data from the beatstep pro until i enabled midiinput 2.

Old post, but in case somebody is still wondering, I've got a Volca Beats connected to the BSP via a MIDI cable (default drum channel 10 on both) and the BSP is connected to my Mac running Ableton via USB. Just send stuff to channel 10 in Ableton — works without a hitch. I didn't have any free MIDI outs elsewhere so this saved me from spending on a MIDI splitter :-)

According to a Sonic Lab video, you can actually use any cheap miniplug splitter to get multiple MIDI outs from the BSP!
