BSP and S trig issues with Korg 770
« on: July 12, 2016, 03:35:46 pm »
I recently had a CV Gate kit installed in my Korg 770. From what I can tell, this should use the same settings as the MS20 and other classic Korg synths. I was unable to trigger the envelope on the 770 with the BSP set to S Trig mode and assumed something was wrong with the kit that was installed. After having my tech tear it down and redo it just in case, it was still not working. We hooked the BSP up to his scope and from what we could tell, NO signal is being sent out either sequencer gate port when the BSP is configured for S Trig. If you switch to V Trig, you can clearly see the 0-10v gate signal every time a pad is pressed, switch back to S Trig and nothing.

I had updated the firmware to the latest version the day before. Perhaps that broke S Trig somehow?

Thoughts?

I hooked the 770 up to my TeeBee which has a 4ch midi - CV convertor in it and the gate works just fine so this seems to be an issue with the BSP and how it sends S Trig. Anyone?
