My pitch output is two octaves too high
« on: May 30, 2016, 06:38:15 pm »
I've recently got the BSP, having had a Beatstep, and the notes outputted are two octaves too high. For example, if the pads are in keyboard mode and both octave buttons are off, the BSP should be outputting C3. But if I feed this into and oscillator on my modular, my tuner confirms that this is C5. Setting up a sequence does the same, and I've tried it with other oscillators and my MicroBrute. I've checked in MIDI control centre and there are transpose is set to zero and Seq Transpose centre pitch is C3. In the device settings both sequencers are set to 0v MIDI note as C-2, which I believe is correct. I'm running the latest firmware.

Any ideas?

- connect your BSP to your computer
- open midi control center
- select Beatstep Pro on the left
- in the device settings panel on the right scroll down
- look for "Seq1 0V Midi note" for the first sequencer
- set it to another value, in your case from C-2 to C-0 probably

If that doesn't work try other values, the BSP should be updated immediately so try different settings and verify it.

Cheers.
