can't open my synths in Analog Lab 2, can't find a Prefs box.

someone plz don't tell me I have to buy the upgrade to use my synths in AL 2 !!! I can't open anything in AL 2, manual makes no sense, I hit that icon and I get a Save As box, not the gui of my synths....thx for any help.

btw, the Prefs drop down in my Standalone has no list of my synths, just MIDI and Soundcard info.
