For any patch, multiple characteristic tags can be set.
When filtering, only one characteristic tag is selectable at a time.
That seems odd, considering that the filtering allows multiple banks to be selected, and multiple characteristic tags are supported in the patch data.
[Update] i have found that (apple) command + click allows multiple characteristic tags to be selected. I found it by accident, it's not mentioned in manual. Works for 'Types' too.
