BSP->Microbrute; pitch drops
« on: April 14, 2016, 09:22:16 pm »
Hello,
When I connect the BSP to Microbrute via cv, the pitch drops a semitone (maybe some cents more).
I am using regular stereo cables for connecting.
Finetune only tune it up to B.

Do you have any ideas?
Thank you.

So let me preface this by stating I don't have a lot of experience with the CV aspect of things (I connect my MB via MIDI) so my advice might be totally wrong. Someone else please feel free to correct me.

I did connect a MicroBrute via CV initially (I use midi now) and saw something like this. If you go into the MIDI CC there's an option for the sequencers for CV gate mode and you can change the 0V MIDI note. I suspect if you move that note up or down a semitone that might solve your problem. See page 80 in the PDF manual to see what I'm referring to.

Hello Jasonvezina,

Thank you very much for your answer.

Unfortunately this did not correct, however when I tried it midi I got a proper pitch, I was able to tune it correctly.

Have you tried connecting the BSP to anything else via CV? You should check if it's an issue with the BSP or the Brute. Also, typically it is best to use TS cables for CV rather than TRS.
