Midi Thru only monophonic
« on: February 23, 2016, 10:07:29 am »
Hello,following issue:

I have a Midi Keyboard on the Midi In of the BSP and I can control/play the sequencers like transposing how it should. However, i also want to play my Sound Modules with this Midi Keyboard without the BSP running and the notes are going thru - but only monophonic. It can't route more than one midi note thru to the following devices. First I thought I had missed something in my synths options but connecting it directly to the Midi Keyboard solves this. Anyone else?

After reading the reports here I've tried to change the "Seq Transpose Input Channel" in the MCC but it doesn't change anything. Even when it is switched to USB, the ordinary Midi Input receives the signals from my Midi Keyboard. (Yes, I did store it to the device's working project)

Same Issue here, and this was before the November update. No matter the selected input transpose channel or the input mode - USB/MIDI. The only future that works is the latch on/off mode.

This issue is tricky. It is now always present. Sometimes, when the transpose channel is set to 2, I can transpose it with a NI Maschine and internal Midi routing to the BSP, and in that case I can hear the incoming notes only when the REC is blue, otherwise it transposes. The other midi keyboard, connected to the midi in in the BSP plays and recs normally. Curiously why the 2 channel are not behaving normally thought.

I wii try to reproduce the issue and make a screen video on it.

Another observation on the midi transpose issue with my BSP.
The BSP is plugged ion a external usb PS, so there are no USB midi drivers. In this case, the pre-configures midi channel transposes fine, BUT it transposes all the 2 sequences instances, regardless the state of the transpose link button. Sometimes, when the TrLink is on, the second channel jumps few octaves more. But this is probably a misconfiguration with the midi root key in MCC.

I've run into a similar problem. I simple want the Beatstep Pro to interpret the behavior of my MIDI keyboard the same as it reads its pads. Is there a solution to this?

I don't have BSP yet and this is one of the biggest doubts I have. So it's not possible to play over a running sequence (1 of 2) with an external midikeyboard connected to BSP? If so, it makes a polyphonic synth bit useless companion with BSP. I do understand the it's only monophonic seq but it would be really useful to pass thru all midi notes without filtering. Correct me if I'm wrong here. Cheers!

It doesn't pass through MIDI polyphonically.  Just the way it is- I don't think it makes any of my polyphonic synths useless, but then I'm not trying to play them through the BSP either...

Its rather maddening as I run the Virus in multitimbral mode and my keylab was previously used as a secondary controller for channel 2. Now with the Keylab running into the BSP and the BSP going into the Virus that completely eliminates the use of the Keylab as a fully functional secondary keyboard without introducing a MIDI thru box into the equation. It'd be nice if the BSP and the Keylab were one unit or if either one had a bloody MIDI thru.
