Arpeggiator stuck, LED not working
« on: March 07, 2015, 06:07:51 pm »
Hi, Turned on my brute today and the arpeggiator seems to be stuck and the LED's off. Trawled through the forums and found this thread http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=12459.0, is it relevant and if so could I have the tech ticket?
I need help I've got a gig in five days!

Thanks in advance
Jess

Sometimes if I really abuse the arpeggiator it will lock up. This happens sometimes when I press down all of the keys and run an arpeggio with all of the notes. In my case, all I have to do is turn the synth off and then turn it on again and the arpeggiator works properly. I'm sure you've already tried that to no avail.

Have you tried reinstalling the firmware? That might help.

On the SE I know it is possible to disable the sequencer from reacting to internal clock and ext midi clock and only responding to incoming CV gate trigger! When this setting is enables the sequencer appears dead too. This is done by sending a CC message to the brute - I'm wondering if your Arp could be on this setting if possible?

Cheers, I'll have a look and check but I'm not sure how that could have happened, I don't/haven't sent it any midi!

sending CC114 with any value above 64 puts the SE into Gate trigger mode, and any value below 64 puts it into clock mode.

sending CC108 has three possible settings which could be relevant too. Int/Clock/Ext modes. They exist somewhere between 0-42, 43-84,85-127 or something like that.

I have no idea if this is the same on the original  MB but maybe.

Good luck in any case.

Great, thanks for that I'll have a look tonight and let you know how I get on. Also got a support ticket open so will post when I get anywhere.
Cheers!

FYI this was a loose ribbon as suspected, just fixed it now. Thread http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=12459.0 details how to fix it, need the tech ticket to take the back off.

Thanks for all help.
