« on: October 27, 2011, 09:01:54 pm »
hi there. just bought spark and loving the interface and design. wondering if anyone is using spark to trigger reason sounds. lots of cool sounds in reason, but i want to program beats and patterns using spark.

anyone doing this or got any recommendations? can i just drag reason kits into spark?

thanks!

This is an old topic by now, and you've probably figured out some methods on your own.  But in case not, know that there are many ways to go about getting Reason sounds into Spark.  The simplest way I think is to just Export Loop as Audio File, with the loop markers around whichever sound you want to export (FX and channel settings will be applied).  If you wanted to export a REX loop, you might consider editing the loop (after its been exported as audio) and assigning each note/beat to its own pad on Spark.

I've had some fun using some of the FX templates in Spark and importing some synth hits/loops from other instruments, like Massive or Absynth (NI).  The very same thing can be done with Reason too.  Hope this helps!

Just saw this and got me thinking ....

Has anyone had any joy doing this the other way around ... ie getting Spark recorded into audio tracks in Reason ??

I have been trying to get Spark to respond to midi clock that is sent by Reason but have had no luck ..
Also thinking that I would have to use soundflower to route the audio into Reason ?

Any insights would be great

Thanks
