Bug: VCA2 settings cause notes to fail to release
« on: October 19, 2004, 06:49:21 am »
I believe the following behavior to be a bug in the MMV 2.0

Description:
When using a patch that does not even utilize the VCA2 a maximum setting of the "Release" parameter causes the note to play forever.

Steps to reproduce:
Using either DXi or VST.
1. Start with a new blank patch and connect an oscillator to VCA1.
2. Play a note. It works fine.
3. Set the Release parameter of VCA2 to maximum.
4. Play the same note. It now sustains forever.
5. Touch any of the Attack, Delay, Sustain or Release of VCA1
6. The tone discontinues.
7. Repeat steps 3-6.

Severity:
Now that I know the issue it is a low severity but it took me hours to figure this one out.

System Info:
OS: Windows XP Professional (SP2)
CPU: Pentium 4  2.7 Ghz
RAM: 1GB
Software: Sonar 2.0 (when referencing DXi issues)
Controller: Alesis QS8
SoundCard: Aardvark Pro Q10

Please advise if there is a more appropriate way to report defects.
Thanks.
