Hold - Sequence Question (Making notes 1 and 2 the same)
« on: May 13, 2013, 05:38:22 pm »
I love the hold function, and being able to hit a sequence of eight or sixteen notes and get a loop going.

But there's one thing I can't do.

Anyone figured out a way to create a sequence with notes 1 and 2 being identical?

I can do any sequence of notes I want, except I can't make the first two notes identical.

Anyone know a way of doing this?

Your answer lies here :)  It's actually a bug, but a useful one:

First you need to use the MiniBrute Connection Software (via USB) to turn on the "ARP Hold mode" - which I guess you already have if you are doing sequences already.

Then put Arp switch to Hold
Hold down a key (like you would to start entering notes)
While still holding down key, flip Arp switch to OFF.
While still holding key, flip Arp switch back to Hold.
Let go of key
Begin bunching in notes for your sequence.  No need to hold any notes down, just pop them in the order you want, and it can be less than 16 steps... can do 3 steps, 5, 8, whatever.. up to 16, with the benefit of being able to do repeats of the first note (i.e. C, C, D, E)

How about this:
- play a note and hold the key
- hit transpose down one octave
- play the same note one octave higher
- et voilą, the same note twice   ;)

Thank you both!

Sorry for the late reply.

Going to try these now :) I remember once or twice my Minibrute did that bug that you mentioned, could never figure out what I'd done exactly, so thank you!

This was the only thread anywhere that helped me get this feature working. Even with the new software and the most recent firmware I was unable to get it to work. This strange "trick" did the job and I thank you! I really wish it just worked without doing this though :/
