Possible bug using sample module on new project?
« on: May 05, 2014, 03:21:19 am »
Here's the steps to create this...

1.) Click "New Project" icon in top left panel. [This will load an init patch into Spark 2]
2.) Go to "STUDIO" and on the first drum panel, a sample module with all the necessary connections should be loaded. Load a sample in the "SAMPLER" panel.
3.) Hit the first pad on Spark LE and lo-and-behold... NO SOUND!

I've studied the "MODULAR" section in detail, and from what I can tell... loading a sample into the first drum should work, right? Or am I missing something?

I just want to create my own patch loaded with my own samples, but it seems to me like the sample module is broken when used in new projects.

Can someone please confirm that this isn't just happening on my system?

Any help much appreciated.

Sounds weird...
How do you load your new instr ? Via Studio or library ?
If you save your project after inst selection do you have any sound ?

I'm having exactly the same issue. Every time I load a sample on a fresh pad in a new project I can't hear the sound. I always have to save first afterwards I'm able to hear the sound for that pad. This has to be done for every single pad where you load a new sound the first time!

You've found a bug ! Thanks !
We are working on it !
The workaround is to save between each drag and drop on pads.
.......testing.......

Thanks for the quick reply Ben.

I was losing my mind trying to understand why I wasn't getting any sound — so I'm happy to find out it wasn't just my own stupidity.

And only now found a bug? It's one of the most important function when working with own presets. How not to have noticed this error during the beta testing, and why it was not fixed to the first release?

As you can see there a huge amount of parameters in Spark 2. We have been fixing a lot of bugs and sometimes while fixing one bug another one comes out.
This one is a major one and we are going to fix it soon. We didn't see that one maybe because we have been working on testing save as on factory kits lately... ::)

One more issue I found in this area: when I press the save button and waited about 4 seconds before the saving process starts (  ::) ) the text above the green saveing bar says "loading" instead of "saving".

ah perfect. now i can use my own samples. very happy. thanks ben.

been, is there a reason why when you save a new kit it always saves kit under new preset? studio one does the same thing. im guessing for back up safety?
