My Spark won't update (1.0 to 1.1.3)

Dear All,

My "Spark" came in today and the few minutes I played around with it got me quite excited. However, for hours now I have been trying to get the software and hardware to update... without any success, unfortunately.

First, I downloaded the .zip file from the link on the registration confirmation mail. I tried this twice; both times the file was unusable, coming up with some message about an invalid last set of an archive or something similar  .

Then I tried to download the .dmg file for version 1.1.3. from the download page. This went smoother and once downloaded the file can be activated and the installation seems to go according to plan. However, when I start Spark it is still in 1.0 

I also downloaded those (currently free) add on packs. These installed without any problems and are working flawlessly.

This is on MAC (OS: Lion)

Could someone please point out what I am doing wrong?

Hi,
I don't know what is wrong but I can give you a workaround.
First, if you create custom projects, backup them before doing anything.
Then remove all the following files then install Spark 1.1.3.1 (from the DMG)

• /Application/Arturia/Spark
• /Application/Arturia/Spark MIDI Control Center
• /Library/Arturia/Spark
• If you install Spark Library in a custom folder, delete it

Let me know if it is ok after that.
I will create an uninstaller to solve this kind of issue.

Dear Kevin,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have followed your instructions, but it has not solved my issue.

After applying what you described the software started up requesting my activation code. I was hopeful but after entering it, the software is still on version 1.0

Also, the free add on libraries were gone again, which is probably what I deleted (amongst others). Reinstalling those brought them back without any problems, but spark's version is still 1.0 though.

Any help is much appreciated.

Ok so the only things I can think is that you didn't install the good version.
Please make sure you removed the installer DVD from your computer.
Please delete also all previous Spark installer you downloaded.
You should now not be able to find any Spark file in your computer. You can make a search in the finder to make it sure.
Then download the latest version 1.1.3.1 here.
Reinstall it and tell me what happens.
