Can you run Jupiter V1 on V2 license?
« on: April 06, 2011, 04:53:11 pm »
While I am awaiting tech support I thought I would ask on here.

I had a technical issue where all of my licenses got wiped from my dongle. I reauthorized them which was fine, but the new authorsation for Jupiter and Prophet was for V2 only. I have projects that I am working on that use version 1 of both synths, which won't open as it says I don't have a license for them.

Does anyone know if in theory you should be able to run version 1 of the Jupiter and Prophet on a v2 license? And if so how?

Thanks,

Bex

V2 software can run with either a V1 or V2 license.
V1 software can only run with a V1 license.

If you want to run V1 software, you need a V1 license on a USB dongle.

The V1 licenses for Jupiter-8V, ProphetV and Brass were Syncrosoft USB licenses (USB dongle required).
All the V2 licenses are eLicenser SeL licenses that can be used either on a USB-eLicenser dongle or on a Soft-eLicenser (virtual dongle on the system drive of one computer).

Thanks for your reply Sean.

Following instructions from tech support, I updated Licence control centre to the latest version from the website, and my V1 licenses reappeared.

Jupiter V1 is not showing up in Cubase 6, but it is in Cubase 4 which meant I could at least retrieve preset info and mixer settings for a project.
