An Origin, indeed!
The first reason Keith got the Origin for the Emerson and Lake tour, was to recreate the GX1 sounds for the intro of "Pirates" (kindly re-programmed on Origin by Drew Neumann using CS80 modules).
Of course, the Modular aspect of Origin, including Mg modules and a Tonewheel generator, can't hurt..
I'm going to see Keith in L.A. on Sunday; I'll try to take a few more pictures.
A little GX1 history: The Yamaha GX1 predates the CS-80 ($60,000 in 1973/75). It was listed in the Electone line, had 2 polyphonic keyboards (very close to the CS-80 sound engine), a monophonic mini-keyboard and bass pedalboard.
One of the first units was owned by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, who sold it to Keith Emerson, who then sold it to Hans Zimmer, who also finally sold it when he got the Arturia CS-80V software!
