Me again ,nother prob
« on: January 12, 2010, 05:57:50 pm »
I own a Tenori-on, and use it with many synths and plugins, and the unit I own that cant handle the tenori is my Origin. It will hang and catch on notes, unless I pass it thru a midi filter and allow only one chanel to pass thined out too.No other synth I own does this. I will not list them but they are several and all different brands. Your plugins work just not the origin..Test it out youll see.

I have the same problem playing the Origin directly from my SH-201.  :o

with the MPC in between them everything is peachy though. Waiting for 1.1 desperately. Hopefully alot of the shortcomings will be addressed.

We've made a lot of modifications for the 1.1 version to address timing problems when dealing with incoming MIDI. The description you both make looks similar to the behavior we had to fix, so it may be fixed with the 1.1 firmware. However, could you tell me more about the conditions in which you get these erratic behavior? What kind of preset is loaded in Origin? What are he MIDI settings? What kind of messages are your controllers sending to Origin? It would help us to diagnose.

Actually, just playing the keyboard of the SH-201 was locking up the Origin every now and then. Mainly when I tweaked the sound (in the Origin). I was not using the SH-201 for anything more than a masterkeyboard, so note on/off, modulation, and bender maybe.

I found a way around by sending the mdi data through the MPC. So, no big deal. Before that though, I had to press the panic button more than any other botton on the unit. Also, I am running 1.07, lets see how the new OS will work for me.

If I encounter bugs, what would be the appropriate address to communicate? The forum cannot be it, or?

In any mode ie pgrm or multi as soon as you in put notes on the Tenori-the origin will hang on notes and susTain permanently. If i filter data out thru steinberg lets say, and let only one channle in and one out it will work.It has this problem only when you direct connect the origin to the tenori. This happens even when sending one channle from one to the other. All my other synths just work with it without hanging on notes. It seems the messages are to robust in some manner.

Mmmmmh.....

If anyone of you had the opportunity to capture the MIDI which is going into the Origin it would really help me. One way you can do this is record the MIDI at the THRU output. Also tell me - or send me - the preset you are using when recording.
