Strange patch recall bug in Jupiter 8V2
« on: February 21, 2011, 08:32:02 am »
I've tested this on both 2.0 & 2.01 (On OS X 10.6.5 using various hosts to ensure it wasn't a host issue).

When saving certain patches the recalled version sounds different. Even if you are saving an existing preset without editing, the second version of the patch sounds different. This does not occur for every patch but it happens often enough to be a major PITA. I also tested version 1 of the Jupiter and the bug does not exist there.

I have uploaded an example audio file of the SF_NitzerBass patch. I loop a simple riff using the original patch and then the same riff with a cloned version (a 'save as' with no parameters altered) of the same patch. As you'll hear the cloned version of the patch sounds significantly different.

Not that it's of any help but I am having a similar issue. In my case I have discovered that what is happening is that when recalled the patch is changing from monophonic to polyphonic and thus changing how the patch sounds.

I waited a month to get a reply from Arturia technical support before getting this reply

"After investigations, seems to be a "Unison" issue.
Switching "Unison" ON sometimes works, some other times don't.

Please try this workaround:
- try several to switch Unison On (thankst to Buttons Unison & Solo) until Unison is efficiently switched On.
- then save your preset.
Hope this will help.

Best regards,
Thomas.

Notice that we plan updates of the V synths during 2011."

My tech support query was submitted in February and this still hasn't been resolved. That's the famous ever responsive Arturia tech support for you! (Case 94886 just in case an Arturia opp is reading this).

Similarly, switching back to one of the Poly modes sometimes gets it into a very weird state where it plays some notes but not others.  Thankfully resets itself back to normal when I reload the patch.

I think this is a related issue too: I save with Arpeggiator selected and on Random, or any one of the 4 settings, but when Mainstage recalls it, Arpegiattor is off. I think it's related, because the way to turn Arpeggiator off, is to call up Polyphonic 1 or 2, or Unison. Same issue?

Great news about the coming updates! Thanks, Arturia!

I have the same problem on my system:

OSX.6.8, Cubase 6.05 (32bit), latest updates of plugins.
macOS 10.14.6, MatrixBrute, V-Collection7, Pigments, all FX and more...
