My current computer is rather ancient and I'm looking to upgrade it. I'm thinking of building a system based on the AMD Phenom quad processor chip and installing the 64 bit version of Windows XP. I didn't see anything about multicore/64 bit in the compatability section -- does the standalone app make good use of multiple processors and/or a native 64 bit operating system? How much of that is dependent on the OS? I have a feeling the multiprocessor thing might work better with mac OS than XP...
