For the 1st release, the sequencer is "only" an (emulation of) analog step sequencer. That is it provides (emulation of) analog signals, trigg, gates... that you can connect to modules somewhere in your patch.
However adding to the sequencer the capability of generating MIDI messages have been explored here at Arturia and this is something that we may add to an upcoming upgrade.
The "MACRO" is something different. It is a mean to set several parameters with a single knob. For instance, you can set the CUTOFF value of just one filter in your patch, or of all the filters in your patch, or a subset of these filters.
