2 Questions regarding VCO and calibration
« on: February 10, 2014, 11:51:46 pm »
Hi!

Today i got my microbrute to fool around with that nice synth and i noticed a behavior i am not quite sure about:

1. VCF does a nearly perfect sinewave-VCO

When using the "Basic Patch" from the Manual except i set all 4 VCO / Sub on "0" there was a faint clicking sound if pressing keys.
If Resonance is set at past 75% i can hear a perfect sinewave (tested on a scope). The Frequency can be altered with the cutoff and/or Brute Knob
So do i trigger the selfoscillating VCF and is this normal behavior?

2. The "sawtooth-VCO" is a "ramp" (falling down or inverted saw) in my microbrute. Oscilloscope shows it looks like the silkscreen-symbol for the LFO. Is that normal, is there something quirky in my Brute (like a defective inverting opamp) or does the saw vco need to be internally calibrated with trimpots?

Greetings

Mono
