Increase sequencer modulation output?
« on: June 11, 2005, 10:15:46 pm »
Hello everyone,

I just got the Vintage Synth Collection yesterday, and it's absolutely fantastic! Really really enjoying it folks.

I do have one question about the sequencer in the MMV. The range of output doesn't seem that high, and I can't seem to change it. In other words, when the knobs are turned hard left or hard right, it doesn't make filters change their frequency a huge amount, and the pitch changes are only over about two octaves. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Jared

Hi Jared.
To modulate the filter from the sequencer you have to assign that from the filter itself. Make your changes from the little boxes on the lower right corner of the filter. You can choose the key follows and the row of the sequencer.

Hi Mark,

I did know about the little boxes -- that's what I had been using.

However, I found the answer to my question! I hadn't noticed those sequencer modulation outputs down on the strip above the keyboard. I can connect each row output to various oscillator or filter inputs to get all kinds of extreme "voltage" changes. This also allows me to use pitched sequences that are not based on fixed 12 tone scales, which is very very cool.

I love MMV!

Jared

Glad you solved your problem.  Yes, the MMV is a wonderful soft synth, and I put it up there with Reaktor and Absynth as my three favorite soft synths.
