Analog lab CRASHES Ableton Live 9
« on: January 10, 2015, 12:42:03 pm »
Impossible to delete a track with analog lab without planting Live 9 with whole project.
As, impossible to find a solution.

An idea ?

Thank you.

I have the exact same issue with Analog Lab in Live 9. For me it seems to only happen with certain Analog Lab patches. I recently switched to Ableton Live 9 from Logic X in which Analog Lab worked even worse. In Logic, Analog Lab crashed the application randomly after ~15 minutes without exceptions.

Please fix your bugs!

Thanks

Hi all,

We are deeply sorry for this bug.
I've been trying to reproduce it on several test machines with no success. First step to fix a bug is to reproduce it.
Could you answer to those question in order to help me please ?

- OS version
- Live version
- With witch synth in AnalogLab (Sound or Multi ?)
- Are you using others plugins in your projects or does it crash even with only one instance of AnalogLab ?
.......testing.......

I have nearly the same problem as well. Live crashes almost every single time I try to record with Analog Lab. And randomly as well. It's REALLY cramping my creative flow.  :(

I sent the crash files to Ableton support and they said the crashes were due to a lack of RAM while running the 32-bit version of Live, as well as Analog Lab. So I've upgraded my RAM to 16 Gb and am now running the 64-bit version of Live as well, but same issue...So with those 2 issues out of the way, everything is pointing to Analog Lab at this point unfortunately.

Would you have any use for any Live crashes files (.alp) to fix this bug? If this issue could get fixed I would finally be really happy with this otherwise great software.  :)

- OSX 10.9.3 (MacBookPro)
- Live 9.1.7 (both 32 and 64-bit)
- Pretty much any 'Sound'. Possibly 'Multi's'. (haven't messed with them too much yet)
- A few other 3rd-party plug-in's as well, but like I said Ableton support specifically said it was Analog Lab. :(

Analog Lab is up-to-date too of course...

Peace

Well to be fair, I guess it's not "always" Analog Lab's fault, but about half the time it seems. Here's the latest email I received from Ableton support. I'm sure this info could be of use to someone else as well:

-----------

thank you for your email!

I'm sorry to hear that the stability issues persist!

The log file lists seven Live runs since you upgraded to the 64-bit version of Live. Six of those seven runs crashed. Three of the six crashes happened while loading the Arturia plug-in Analog Lab. Another crash happened while loading the plug-in Glitch.

But at least some crashes also point to Live itself. This particular crash fingerprint is filed already in our bug tracking system. And our development was able to create a reproduction scenario. Unfortunately, at the moment I can't give out further information when this particular issue will be fixed.

Another thing you can try is to reset Live. This way we make sure that the problem isn't caused by corrupted Live setting files:
https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/reset-live/

Please send me the new Live Crash Reports if Live continues to crash on your machine.
https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/live-crash-packs/

Thank you and best regards,

----------

Haven't tried resetting Live just yet, but I will later today.

I cannot wait til I can just sit down and write a phreakin' song without my software crashing EVERY 5 MINUTES...

Ahhh...technology...  ???

Sorry Bitwig Studio.

New DAW developed by ex-Ableton staff which has VST sandboxing built in: I have yet to see it crash.

Try the demo.

OS X 10.10.2
Live 9.1.2 - 32 bits
Surely no Multi, but sound ! It looks to have nothing to do, once, one synth didn't worked one day at all, the jupiter-8v maybe i think.. - now ok)
Yes: Tremor (vst), no else one. I think I had the problem with a Live project with no vst at all without Analog lab (just bought and testing library from first time)

Surely nothing to do, but maybe.. , 's crash report showed that the report stopped at "Thunderbolt Bus:"; My bmp is early 2010 with no thunderbold..

Installing Live 9.1.7 right away. I'll be back if no probs any more..

Hope you'll get an issue..

It looks to work properly now with Live 9.1.7 installed.
Hope I'll do not have to come back to this page  ;D

Hi forum...
Same issue here if you try to delete or flatten the track.
Yosemite 10.10.4
Macbook Pro mid 2012 8 GB RAM
Ableton Live 9.2.2 64 bit
Sound or Multi
One instance of AnalogLab
No other plugins in project (not even Ableton effects)

Thks
