Hi everyone. First time poster and I have only owned the Brute for a couple of days, but I am already inundated with ideas for sound design on this puppy. It is obvious that the brute excels at those metallic, harsh, biting lead or bass patches. I am in love with the metalizer function on lead sounds. In love. This thing just exudes versatility; its quite impressive.
But I have noticed that the Brute also has a sweet spot for some softer, warm leads that one normally associates with brands like Mg and Roland. Try mixing a pure triangle wave (50%), with a pure sawtooth (30%) and the sub-osc (50%) on sine wave at -1 octave. With the filter on low-pass mode at a cutoff of about 55%, and the resonance between 50 and 60 percent--you have a smooth, creamy lead with a great low end that blends into a mix beautifully.
I am sure other people have also discovered settings like this that bring out the softer side of the Minibrute? Do share.
Glad to be a part of the community now and I look forward to sharing ideas/tracks with everyone. Thanks to Arturia for making such a fantastic piece of kit.
