808
« on: May 10, 2013, 05:55:52 pm »
yup another one  ;D

Ive tried to make this one a bit different....theres 96 samples used, some ive resampled through TNC AMP73 preamps, some have  EQing in the preamp, some have been put through nebula and had tape saturation, some detuning, changed velocities...so no two samples are the same, but only very small changes to make it feel more like an analogue machine, even some noise.... :P

all the samples are dry, I havent added any FX in Spark either...its not perfect but I think its a little better than just have one stagnant sample

lemme know what you think

Lemme know what you think...a couple of the kick samples are a little clicky, prolly wont matter much in a mix but i may go back and replace them...also the rim and rim shot samples are really similar at the expense of losing the mid conga...so i may sort that out next week...will post when its updated :)

I'll share everything Im allowed to :)

Im such an amatuer but hopefully itll encourage others to stick some stuff up like TerryM inspired me

I think spark could have a great future with users building there own suff instead of buying kits half full of FX and dubstep wobbles

Next a 909 then im going to take some time and do a proper round robin Vermona kit....elektron arent sending back my MD yet...theyve had it for two months :(

Finally heard the 808 tape. Pretty good kit. If I experience and clocks I usually tweak the attack and decay and I'm usually satisfied. The kick and snares were done well. The rim shot was also excellent. Nice job on the pearl kit by the way.

Great guys...im still learning...theres too much variation in the hits i think, but its still usable

Im working on a round robin vermona kit this week thats far more subtle....so each sample is going through the same chain rather than this where some went through different chains

When i get home, eventually, i have the 808 kit in an R8, best clap sample out there...ill add it to an updated kit

Definitely the sound of the electronic and dance cards, the samples are pobably the best 808, 909 samples ive heard...in fact those two expansion cards cost more than the unit

808 has a 404 error, how quaint. Please fix.
