thanks for the warm welcome  :)

so, having spent some time with my origin, I find myself being impressed, but also frustrated because I think things could go much deeper. while the emulations of classic synth stuff is on the money, I find myself hungry for the futuristic craziness that could be accomplished with the aid of a few wacky modules  ;D

Yes echologist - my voice is with you on that - a granular osc perhaps, or being able to add my own wavetables to the wavetable osc, or a arbitrary function generate (a la Buchla)...

@echologist

Can you be little more specific, what kind of modules would you like to have?

I have been long time asking for modern things like ultrasaw-oscillators. Well, now I must say after I got Virus TI2, I am not anymore that much after them. To me Origin is great like it is: it's an unique mix of old and new. And an unique instrument in inself. There are sounds that you won't get from Origin - Virus-type supersaws for example - but same time Origin is capable of making lot of sounds you won't get from Virus (or other VAs).

This been said, I understand very well the idea of broadening Origin's sound palette. Especially if Origin is supposed to be your all-around-synth like it was to myself, before I got tired to try to take the most modern sounds from it. I think all of us have little different demands and ideas how this thing should be developed. My personal preference has (recently) been developing its computer integration and especially its preset managing. For me it's not very convincing that so many much-much-lower level products like MicrokorgXL can have much much effective way to edit and handle presets...

I guess I'm referring to reaktor style modules or makenoise etc...  honestly, I take back what I wrote, spent another 5 hours with origin today and man am I happy I have it.

label me satisfied! :-)
