One handed mod assignment
« on: July 28, 2022, 05:19:45 pm »
While playing live and/or jamming, often you play a melody with one hand and tweak knobs with the other. this works great if youre modding knobs directly, but if you want to assign a modulation destination in the matrix, it's near impossible.

I propose two ways to do one handed mod destination assignment:

One could repurpose one of the buttons into functioning as an "Assign" button (e.g: press assign, press 1-8, touch knob to modulate).

Alternatively, one could reverse the current functionality of the 1-8 row; instead of holding down the 1-8 buttons to assign a modulation destination, you would only press them with a "waiting for destination" message box on the display until you choose a modulation source, with pressing it again to cancel assignment. and you would hold the 1-8 keys to switch modulation page.

This could be an option in the settings and would make jams and live playing much much easier!

I like this - a third option could be that a long press or double-click puts the destination slot into assignment mode and waits for a source selection.

This is a good idea and would be very welcome.
