Analog Lab V or Pigments
« on: January 05, 2023, 07:28:14 am »
Hello,
Hello, I have for now Analog Lab V intro,
I acquired Wavelengths Cinematic presets of Pigments,
but I do not know if I should go more to the update to Analog Lab V or Pigments.
I don't really know about VST on Arturia .
I am more in a search for sounds for atmospheres and film music.
Thank you in advance

I am only an amateur musician but passionate.
DAW: FL Studio 21 - Kontakt 6-7 -
I live in Brittany in France.
Kind regards and Musically.

Download the trial version of Pigments and take a look. It does come with a lot of presets, but as a complete rookie you are probably going to find it difficult making your own sounds on Pigments.

Hello and thank you for your reply.
I installed the trial version to be able to use all the presets of "Wavelengths Cinematic" (thanks to Mr. Ricardo who allowed me to fix a malfunction on some presets).
As for the settings and although I am new here, I have in my possession :
Sektor Syth,
Dimension Pro,
 SynthMaster One
SynthMaster 2
Massive N/I
FM8 N/I
So it does not scare me, it is just avoid making a duplication between the two elements and as long as to focus on the one that is the most efficient, or are they complementary.
I would like to avoid cause finance to invest unnecessarily, given the interesting amount for now to move to the total version.
Thank you in advance.

If you have tried the trial version, I am not sure anyone can assist you with deciding something like this. It is going to be about your own personal preference.

The amount of customisation in Analog Lab is deliberately limited, on the one hand to make it simple to use for newbies, but mostly to encourage you to buy the full V Collection. But, there are sounds in it that Pigments cannot recreate. Pigments is a fully featured wavetable, virtual analog, granular and sampling-analog software synthesizer with hundreds of presets and the ability to craft your own sounds.

I do not think anyone can make the decision for you.

Thank you for taking your time to answer me,
any appreciations or information is important to read.
I'll check out the demo version of Pigments more deeply and take some time to choose the best compromise.
Thanks again.
