How can I prevent the PCB from wearing out?

I've had my MicroFreak for less than a week, and I'm already starting to notice the pattern on the PCB wearing off. I don't see anything in the manual about how to keep this from happening, and I'm worried it's going to eventually affect the keys' conductivity. I get the sense it's happening from my fingernails scraping against the playing surface, so I'm cutting and filing my nails to be very careful, but is there anything else I should be doing? This feels like a warranty waiting to happen.

Don't worry, the pattern is just paint and it's fading because of friction and sweat
The condictive part are those metal dots, which should be fine
