KeyLab 88 MKII MIDI Dropout
« on: May 31, 2022, 03:39:47 am »
I recently have been experiencing MIDI dropouts. I will be playing and all of a sudden my computer is no longer receiving MIDI from my Arturia KeyLab 88 MKII. I have tried to figure out whats going on but don't know much about technical issues and resolving them. I am running ableton 11 and my OS is Catalina 10.15.7. I have the latest firmware installed. I never had this issue until I wiped my computer and did a fresh install. I would play for hours and have serious CPU usage going on. Now it dropouts randomly. My cables are new and its plugged directly into my computer. The only way to fix it is to close and reopen ableton after shutting off and turning on my KeyLab 88 MKII. It also seems to happen when I have heavy CPU usage. This is ridiculous. This never happened before wiping my computer and reisntalling my OS and never updating my firmware. As soon as I did my KeyLab started acting up hardcore.

Please help, this is wrecking my workflow.

RESOLVED: The problem was caused by too long of a usb cord, being routed through a Usb Hub, and not powerful enough usb electrical plug causing MIDI dropouts.

Did you ever resolve this. I'm trying to use live but dropouts are happening all too often.
