Analog Lab 4 vs. Analog Lab V
« on: August 27, 2021, 06:59:40 pm »
I installed both AL f and AL V when I got my Arturia controller earlier this week, but am wondering if they are two totally different things or if AL v is supposed to be and an update to AL 4.   I note that AL V is a Roman numeral 5, while AL 4 is a standard numeral 4, so that throws my theory off somewhat.

What is the difference between these two plugins, if any?  Do I need to have them both on my computer?

Thanks for any advice

Hi,

Analog Lab V (5) can play all Arturias sounds, including legacy sounds, if you have any.

Analog Lab 4 can't play the sounds from applications that's new in V-Collection 8. But perhaps you find the workflow and better for you, as things has changed from AL 4 to AL V.

You won't save much disk space not installing AL4. I have both installed. But it's not like you need it to have a working AL.
