I recently purchased a Spark LE Creative Drum Machine form a private seller on Ebay.
The listing said it was in like-new condition, in the package and had a clean license.
I received it quickly after the purchase and sure enough it looked to be in pristine condition, in the package with USB cord, carry case and manual included, as well as the software CD. The serial number on the controller and the book match.
However, when I tried to load the software and get it up and running, the passcode (located under the serial number in the inside cover of the user manual) would not work. I contacted the seller, and he and I have been exchanging emails over the past three days trying to resolve the issue. He contacted Arturia and got back to me today with this:
Ok, so Arturia responded and here's what they said. Let me know if this works:
The activation code is not used anymore except for Windows XP and OSX 10.6
Here's how to proceed in order to install your soft on a new computer without activation code:
1) Download the installer of your instrument + The Arturia Software Center (ASC):
http://arturia.com/support/updates&manuals
2) Install your software and the Arturia Software Center.
Open the ASC, type your Arturia's login and password, and click on the 'Activation' button located next to your instrument.
3) /!\ /!\ Then update your instrument through the ASC /!\ /!\
--> Or it will keep asking for an activation code
4) Finally you can try to open your software. It should work perfectly if you didn't skip any step. (Don't forget to update step 3)(please note that these are the seller's words, not an actual email from Arturia)
So, I downloaded the Arturia Software center and tried to proceed, but when I got to step 3 I am stuck -right back where I have been from the moment I tried to run the software the first time -they are asking me for my serial number and unlock code, again.
I can't send a help request to Arturia because I don't technically own a product/license/whatever.
I'm at my wit's end, after three days of trying to do this I have only succeeded in establishing a username and password.
If I can't get a definitive answer I will have to return the Spark to the seller.
