I was under the impression that the Emulator was 8 Note polyphonic with one voice per sample. Most synths of that era were 8-voice and the Mirage was one voice per sampleThen I was watching Cat Synth. (main page)
https://www.youtube.com/c/CatSynthTVand he described makine 3 notes from one sample and some samples being spread across the keyboard. This gives me the notion that this is not a one sample one vvoice instruemtn. Cat Synth goes pretty deep and seems to like Arturia synths
