BSP sequencer or Impact?
« on: January 19, 2021, 06:52:07 pm »
I'm curious of the pros / cons of using the BSP to sequence the Impact via midi. That is, what does the BSP sequencer buy you that the Impact doesn't, and vice versa.

Pros of using the BSP sequencer:
- More instruments at your fingertips. 16 pads vs 8, Not as much messing with the color.
- Probability on the randomness parameter
- Knobs make it quicker to edit steps
- Primarily using one device - especially if I'm using the Seq 1 and 2

Pros of using the Impact sequencer:
- Step repeat - subdividing a step makes for more rhythmic options
- More mute / solo options

Am I missing anything and/or is any of my information inaccurate?

I wanted to add:

Am I right to notice that velocity on the Impact is still binary on the BSP. It looks like velocity > 110 is the same sound as Accent and < 110 is the standard. This is disappointing, it would be great if we could take full advantage of 0-127 velocity for each instrument.
