Semitone keyboard transpose
« on: August 21, 2021, 11:23:39 am »
Hi, it would be great to have an option to transpose entire keyboard with eg. Shift+ octave up/down by semitones. When transposable, the keyboard would not be as limiting as it is now.
Let's say you want to go down by 1 semitone, C becomes B and you can go and play in the key of B. This feature is very basic for many keyboards and it's missing since the beginning of this epic instrument.

And ofc it would be even better to have this transposition saveable with presets - esp for live situations. You open up a preset and the keyboard is in the right key/transposition instantly.

Thank you

this is a HUGE "DUH"/
of course you need a transpose button on a midi controller. How did this ever get made without one?

Because it wasn't primarily designed as a midi controller.
That said, their midi controllers don't all have that feature either.

Even when considered only as a standalone synth it would be great to have this feature. This keyboard is really fun to play, but small. If you come up with a pattern in B then that 2-octave keyboard becomes really limiting, as your root note is almost in the middle of it.
MF is capable of transposing the keys by octaves and has dedicated buttons for it. It seems like an easy upgrade to add semitone transposition with shift+Octave up or down. It could also be globally set on preset level. Just a thought
