Folks may have relaized this, but just in case...
I recently upgraded my PC and ended up with Windows 10 (64 bit Pro). With the Origin plugged in to a USB 2 socket, Origin Connect would not work properly.
The solution is to run Origin Connect in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Right click on the shortcut, select the Compatability tab and chose Windows 7.
This now works fine for me.
