Setting MF as midi keyboard alone
« on: August 03, 2021, 10:41:37 am »
I want to be able to use the MF as a midi keyboard only to control other synths as well as using it "fully" as a standalone synth.

Is there a quick guide anywhere for this? Or a special "mode" in MCC for the MF that does it?

Or is it just a straightforward:   midi-out on the MF and midi-in on the external device (or DAW I suppose)?

If not, any tricks/tips or quirks/shortcomings I need to know about?

no, it works pretty ok, nothing to have to prepare for. the only weird thing is if it's outputting velocity or aftertouch and you aren't prepared for that. Like you play a key and it's too quiet, but then play it with full contact and it's normal volume. you have to mess with the sensitivity or turn off pressure/contact. the knobs all put out midi cc too, but you can turn that off if you want
