Beatstep Pro not syncing anymore

Hi Arturia people..... Hope you are all safe and well.

Yesterday I was working away with my beatstep pro with everything perfectly in sync to my DAW (USB mode) but late last night just as I wanted to record something & my MIDI starts going wild.

I use Studio One but I tried cakewalk too and the same thing happens.

I think windows may have done an update behind my back or something.... so frustrating!!!
I reinstalled my audio drivers (Soundcraft 12fx).

I run a thinkpad T460

Has anyone had a similar issue with updates recently???

I have rolled back the lenovo firmware and uninstalled the latest windows update but it is still the same.

It works slightly better with the keystep but still the tempo waivers around.

I have installed a copy of ableton 10 lite which works slightly better but still not rock solid.... 
I simply dont understand what the deuce has happened....
