Prophet V standalone problem
« on: December 06, 2019, 12:12:28 pm »
Hi all, I've read about others having issues with the release switch in the Prophet V but i'm getting an different problem.
In standalone mode when i release a key i get a click and the release setting is ignored.
It only does this with my own patches, presets seem ok!.
Running inside Logic it seems to function correctly.
Also, when i play the keys with my mouse it doesn't have a problem.
My midi interface is an EMU 2x2.
All of the other V collection instruments seem fine, but i'm gonna go through them again and check.
Cheers, Mark.

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

Is it the same preset that does work in Logic, but does'nt work in standalone mode, when you play your keyboard?

Are you talking about the Prophet 5 or the VS release?

It's strange, you say it works, when you play with your mouse, and it's only your own preset that have this behavior.  It is with the same preset? Have you build your presets from the same preset, and does that original preset  work correct?

Hi, sorry about the delay in replying, i've not been on my synths for a while.
Thank's for the reply.
I've just tried the prophet v in prophet 5 mode and all presets have the problem too.
The release is cut off as soon as i release a key and i get a click.Although a random note will play the release phase occasionaly!.
It doesn't do this in Logic so maybe it's a midi specific problem?
Like i said, all other arturia plugins work fine in standalone.
Strange one it is,
Thank's, Mark

OK, i tried using my Moog Grandmother to control the Prophet v over usb and it works fine in standalone.
So it must be the Emu midi interface.
I remember having problems on windows with this midi interface, on windows xp, Native instruments pro52\53 had issues.
Thought it was fine on my mac though, but just shows it must be doing something to the midi note signal.
Oh well.
Thank's anyway.

Which controller do you use? Can't you connect it directly to your comouter with USB?

No, my imac only has 4 usb ports and they're all used up.
I tried an m-audio m track and i get the same problem, i'm playing from a kawai k4 as the midi controller.
Seems like i'll have to use it inside Logic only, which aint really a problem, just seems strange to only effect the standalone version, thank's.

Update, I just tested sem v, that's fine, mini v is fine, Jupiter 8v has the same problem and arp2600v has the problem, there's a click and no release phase.
It's doing my head in.

Thank's for the replies though.

Update.. The problem was my Kawai k4, i swapped it and used a korg ms2000 instead and the problem has gone.
Would never have thought it would be the K4!!  but then again it is nearly 30 years old.
