KeyLab Essentials 49 - send program change
« on: January 18, 2020, 10:28:10 am »
I want to assign the large rotary knob under the display of my Keylab Essentials 49, to send Program change messages to external hardware - e.g. a Digitone

In the Midi Control Center, I can select only specific buttons and assign a program change to them, but I want to use the rotary knob. It won't even select - i.e. it's not programmable?

The action I want is really simple but I cannot find a way to do it.

Any help appreciated

Hi, I've got this very same problem with the KeyLab II. I got very poor response form Arturia, I felt a little like i'd been dismissed for wanting such a feature. For me PC is and esential feature of a MIDI controller. I don't think its too much to ask really. Both my Roland and Yamaha keyboards support this function using external synths so can't see why its beyond the wit of Arturia. ../Steve

Hi, I have built a VST2 plug-in as work-around for this issue. It converts the Arturia default CC MIDI commands of the Preset knob to MIDI program changes.
Check it out at https://github.com/hrgraf/pizmidi and let me know if it works for you!
