Pigments - Feature Requests / sample engine granular round robin
« Last post by coredump on July 04, 2023, 11:06:38 pm »
note on/keyprcess: option to start with  sample A INSTEAD of the next sample in the round robin chain (or Sample B, C... (perhaps) but this is just nice to have and maybe over complicated)

because the round robin in granular mode is such a cool effect but can be difficult to use when you effectively  get a random sample when you next play a note

MicroFreak - Technical Issues / Re: clicking noise when switching presets

I also hear this, and it seems to have gotten louder with the 5.0 firmware?? When I switch presets, sometimes I hear several small glitch/click sounds. If I have a delay and other effects on the MF, the effect is of course
magnified by the effect. I've already tried different USB ports, cables, hubs, and have a robust power filtering solution for ground loops, etc. (I use a Furman IT-reference 15i to provide power for all gear)

This isnt a HUGE deal depending on how I produce, but if I ever want to change presets during a live set, this would be a problem.
MicroFreak - Technical Issues / Re: Local Off problem (latest version)

This seems to be a long term problem of the Microfreak, and its a problem I am experiencing today. The forum is reminding me about the age of this post, but perhaps if the old issue did not still exist, we wouldnt need to bump old threads?

I've had to do some work to get the MF working inside Cubase 12 and Bitwig 4/5, but at this point I have it working (MIDI in/out, arp out, pattern out, no audio glitches or anything strange there).
Nothing else in my studio behaves like the Microfreak at a MIDI level -- Korg, Novation, Akai, or any software instrument.

When I have the MF connected to my DAW (any DAW), and I am using the MF's pattern mode, the MF sends what seem like random CC messages out on MIDI channel 1/all. No other mode does this. (arp, normal notes). Changing the
MF's MIDI channels do not seem to have any effect on the messages coming from it in pattern mode. I could disable the MF's "arp/seq: MIDI out", but then I lose that feature.

--First problem: I have a Vector Synth in my studio which picks up the CCs coming from MF no matter what MIDI input channels it is on. I cant seem to filter them out. This causes random parameter changes on that hardware synth!
My other synths dont seem to pick up the CCs

--Second problem: this seems to occasionally cause the Vector Synth to freeze/reboot, and for the DAW to become unstable. I notice the Vector loses MIDI sync just before this happens. This never happens unless the Microfreak and Vector are
connected at the same time. Cubase freezes/crashes, sometimes the entire PC. Bitwig just restarts its audio engine and continues once devices have been restarted.

I also notice my windows 10 logs have many errors coming from the arturiausbmidi driver. These errors began just after installing firmware 5.0 and the latest USB driver via the MIDI control center. Please see the attached.

Is there any progress made on understanding why this is happening, and potentially fixing it? My only workaround right now is to disable the features in question.

I really don't understand the love of all black and/or dark themes.  Totally bizarre, if you ask me.  I need contrast and clearly written labels that are visible immediately without struggle.

I see this same problem with numerous software synths, too.  Dark colored knobs against black or grey background colors.  Horrible.

Ever try to read a website that uses light gray fonts on a white screen?  Why do that to people?  Black is the proper color against white.

Black background?  Well, use big white colored labels (BIG), and silver or white knobs.  The rotary LEDs are really cool and helpful.

Anyway, you get my gist, and opinion.

This forum is about to be a read only legacy forum.

Hi Arturia lovers,
Really weird. I jumped from an older version to the newest version of Arturia soft synths and Logic Pro. I opened a song project from before and suddenly the melody was not sounding correctly. Then I realized that any Arturia soft synth is skipping notes when the arpeggiator is set on and there are notes close to each other and shorter than the sync rate (synced to DAW clock). When I take the rate sync of and have hertz in Juno or bpm in Pigments it worked fine again.
But this is super annoying of course as I am using the sync rate most often. In Juni I tried to calculate the correct hertz according to the bpm in order to get certain note lengths, but thatís no working well.

Anybody elseís has this problem or solution to this?

And yes I checked with other synths like u-he stuff, not having the issues there.

Otherwise perfect implementation of grains for making music
As far as i can tell they are still working on it abd excalated it upwards, my issue is still open.

Same here, it's a known issue that has to be fixed with an update
