Title: Can't update - Midi Control Center doesn't recognize
Post by: GlennVS on September 23, 2019, 08:27:57 pm
First I open MCC and BSP is connected linked to MCC (recognized).
Then I press 'update' , select the .led file.
Then MCC asks to turn off BSP then on.
I press OK when ready, then I get message that device is not recognized.

I use a USB C to USB cable for macbook pro 2018. Maybe that's seen a a hub? But even when disconnecting and reconnecting that, it doesn't work.
BSP stays in UPD mode.

There has been several thread created about running MCC on a Mac and them not detecting the hardware.  I know there was one where a solution was found, so maybe try a searching the BSP and KeyStep boards for the thread?  I can't remember then thread subject or the member who started it, but I'm pretty sure they added "solved" to the subject.

Did you try the deterring of the midi driver in audio midi setup.
then plugging back in the BSP. and when you do you should see a new driver appear. that is highlighted. This means its connected.
Also check your about mac system report and the usb to see if the bsp is being seen by the mac. if not you have an issue either with the bsp or cable.
if the update process doesn't work first time reboot your mac and try again.

Hope this helps

I see the BSP in the Audio/MIDI configuration when it's connected.
But I can't find any drivers for it under HD/Library/Audio/MIDI drivers.
So I don't know how to delete it.

The driver is in the audio midi setup which is in utilities there you can see beatstep pro just click on that and press delete
Try that then reconnect the Bsp

It's Solved.

The BSP in update mode was recognized in Audio MIDI configuration. But as a generic MIDI device, not as a BSP.
I needed to delete the generic device (not the BSP device).
