Title: Notch Filter
Post by: SunkenForest on August 11, 2018, 12:58:23 am
Hey everyone. So I just thought I'd query something regarding the notch filter on the 2S, is it as weak for everyone as it is for me?

It doesn't appear to be a full notch, more of slight bell shaped curve.

It's odd because I owned an original Minibrute and the notch on that certainly did it's job quite well.

I have to agree - MB2s Notch filter is weaker in comparison with MiniBrute. But for my taste it is more musical.
Filter of MB2s sounds undeniably different and overall IMO filter modes are somehow balanced between themselves.
Now I have found 'places' where filter-mode-switching is 'satisfying musical expression' not just function change.

Glad it's not just my unit that exhibits this behaviour!

I have another unit that has dual notch filters anyway, so it's not the biggest issue. I guess it was just paranoia that I somehow had a defective unit. Still reeling after having to return a Lifeforms SV-1 due to it's scaling issues and with the 2S replacing it, I didn't want a repeat of that fiasco.

Overall, thoroughly enjoying the 2S!
