Regarding the External In on the MB2S I am trying to plug an (active pre-amp) guitar in. No go. I then put a Xenyx802 mixer in the chain. But even with an output of 22dBu there is still no input signal, just weak noise. However if I switch to the Master input it gives me a small amount of noisy volume ( as this is later in the gain stage). And yes I understand I have to open the oscillator to hear sound.
So my real question is what are the technical specs for these inputs i.e. acceptable dBu ranges and impedance? I have searched and have found nothing. Where are they published?
Can anyone help please as one the main reasons I bought this synth was to use with guitar as I have used with many synths before such as the MS-20 etc.
Merci :-)

As I understand patchbay is designed for Eurorack modular compatibility.
Therefore you need more gain.

@ (https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=59409&sid=fa9ea50d3418cf3b5b6fb0df1ebdbf84) it is nicely explained:
-10 dBv (consumer line level) = 0.895v peak to peak
+4 dBu (pro line level) = 3.473v peak to peak
normal modular audio level = 10v peak to peak
peak modular audio level = 20v peak to peak
-10 dBv = -7.78 dBu
10v peak to peak = +13.2 dBu
20v peak to peak = +19.2 dBu

In my case there is nice small (Eurorack) solution to get line levels to higher levels - https://www.ericasynths.lv/shop/eurorack-modules/by-series/pico-series/pico-input/ (https://www.ericasynths.lv/shop/eurorack-modules/by-series/pico-series/pico-input/)
For guitar signal another solution could be better. IDK
But check this (in https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=92778.0;prev_next=next#new) Vic-tor pointed to https://www.thomann.de/gb/art_tube_mp.htm (https://www.thomann.de/gb/art_tube_mp.htm)
