Title: Noisy Outputs

Hi Guys,

Just wondering did any of you notice that the MB its outputs are rather noisy?
When I take the stereo outs to my Clarret 8PreX with normal regular unbalanced cables and I crank up a bit the preamps the hiss is very noticeable.... :(
As far as I know the MB its outputs are not balanced or are they ?

Could a pair of other cables do the job or is this something all MBs have ?

Other synths no problem what so ever I just have this with this analog beast.

I haven't noticed a hiss on mine.  I have used balanced and unbalanced cables.  Right now the ones I'm using are unbalanced and I'm going into a focusrite scarlett.  That being said I haven't cranked the pre's up more than about halfway.

I would definitely try a different set of cables just to confirm.

Thanks for the reply, but just tested different things.
And when I plug in my DT headphones or any other for that part into the direct outputs the same hiss is there on both outputs.
Also noticing a fair amount of oscillator bleeding. :(

Hope any tips and maybe tricks from some pope here. :)

Hmmmm, do you have a USB cable connected by any chance?  They can carry noise too.

I do know that the Steiner filter has a little oscillator bleed.  Arturia has acknowledged this elsewhere in the forum.  If you're getting audio bleed from the Ladder filter also that may be indicative of an issue with your particular unit.  I hope this helps.

I'd say my MB is the noisiest synth I own.  It doesn't bother me in the long run tho.. Either the noise just becomes a subtle texture, or I trim all the recordings.

Just figured it out people :)
Its all about gain staging properly :)
Start high end low.
The closer you get to the main output the less you want to crank it up.
This solves a lot :)

Ya true.. tho that's probably resulting in a more saturated osc->filter sound no?

No not at all, just noticed with proper gain staging its stays amazingly clean for such a diverse analog :)
