Title: Keystep basics?

Hey, am I insane?  Why have I spent several hours trying to get notes to come out of this box and gotten no where?  Iv got my korg volca fm plugged into the keystep midi out and I can get it to stop and start the sequencer but I can't get any keys to play?  I'm lost in YouTube videos trying to find someone who explains the midi control center.  I think I have it set correctly but I must be missing something?

Are your machines on the same MIDI channel?  Try disabling external sequencer control by setting the Volca FM to internal MIDI clock, I found that a big help for running my Volca Beats from the BSP.  Volcas have annoying MIDI implementation.
