The ability to hold notes pressed down independent of the arp or sequencer.

I'd like to have this feature too.
I was wondering that no one at arturia seem to think about this (from the beginning).
Simply press hold while stopped or in Kbd Play mode when a Seq/Arp is running to
hold notes w/o sending note-off messages when releasing the keys and hold is activated.
And press hold again to send note-off message to that particular midi channel.
This is a really nice and handy feature for performing what I'm missing on the KS.
It looks like there're a few requests for this...

I'd like a function like this too, but for the moment I sequence a single note or chord and it acts like a held note.
Oh yeah, while trying to work a way to do this for a Blofeld owner on another forum, we realised it's too easy to plug a sustain pedal into the sustain pedal input of the synth and use that to hold the note and wondered why we didn't think of it first up. Ahhh, the olden days....

Thanks megamarkd, the CC64 (sustain controller) is what came to my mind
when I read in the manual about the additional controller which can be sent
when a sustain pedal is connected. But for this you'll need a pedal, while when
the hold could sustain the notes additional then it's very handy w/o the need
of additional gear especially when you're on stage. But yes, this could be a workaround.

Because it´s a very basic and useful thing.

I am not ashamed to resurrect this one, cause it would be so simple and useful.

Hello!
I just tried my Keystep with a Waldorf Streichfett and I was really disappointed that the Hold did not work to simply sustain a chord as a drone...
The fact that you need a sustain pedal defeats the purpose of portability of this nice and tiny keyboard.
Do you know if this has been delivered in a firmware update?
Do the recent models (including the pro versions) also behave like this?
Cheers!

This option is overdue. Many synthesizers like Korg Volcas or many MIDI to CV / Gate converters that are integrated into analog synthesizers do not understand any kind of sustain message. A simple hold function should have been implemented from the start. Please Please fix ASAP

Such a note hold function would be soooo useful. I’am using the Keystep with a Quadrantid Swarm. It has no sustain. (like many other small synths?)
A note hold function could be the solution for a making a drone (on this machines) and modulating it with both hands …
Thank you!

Same here: hadn’t used my keystep in a while.
Tried to Hold a note (as I do on my Novation SL) using the “Hold” button… and nothing :(
Creating a 1 note sequence for that does note have the same effect since it requires to change the envelope settings on the synth and would sound different when playing a suite of held notes/drones…
Seems like a simple omission that could be fixed…
Besides, I plugged a Boss FS-5L on the Sustain pedal and it does not work either…
Is the only option to use weights on the keys as in the 70’s ?
Or has this been solved already and maybe I should just update my Keystep ?
