Title: What cables do I need to connect the beatstep with microbrute

Hi. I'm completely new to the analog world and simply do not understand how CV, gates etc work. I'd like to connect my beatstep to microbrute as a sequencer, but I have no idea how to connect it or which cables to use.

1. Is a gate cable the same as a regular minijack to minijack cable? If not, what are they exactly called?
2. When I have the cables, how do I connect the devices together?
