Title: Triggering the Sequencer from Roland TR-606 to gate in?
Post by: tristissim on March 08, 2017, 03:46:02 pm
I am considering buying a microbrute. Can the sequencer receive a sync pulse and be slaved to the Low and High Tom outputs of a Roland TR-606, like old analog pre-MIDI gear or recent devices like the Korg Minilogue and Monologue? What adjustments have to be made through software?  Thanks!

I picked up a Microbrute yesterday and was indeed able to sync it to a Roland TR-606

To get the TR-606 to drive the MicroBrute:

Route Hi Tom or Lo Tom Out from the TR-606 to Gate In on the MicroBrute

In the software configuration tool, set the MicroBrute to use Step On = Gate instead of internal Clock, Sync = Auto, Step 1/16

Set the VCA to use ENV instead of Gate.

Voilą!
