It would be incredibly useful to be able to move an entire sequence one step forwards or backwards, for instance by holding the "sequencer 1", "sequencer 2" or "drum" button and pushing << or >>.
-
I had exactly the same idea.. this should be extremely easy to implement. If the BSP software was written well, this could be less than a day's worth of effort (plus updating the manual..).
-
+1 for this. I expected this to be in the newest firmware but guess we have to wait another year.
-
and another year for
save pattern chains to the MCC not just the bsp itself
and a ratchet feature
oh well
adios

+1 for pattern nudge

Yup, defo keen on this idea!
-
+1 for nudging. Please! Can't be hard to implement, surely?

++++++ For pattern nudge

+1!

Well it looks like the chained pattern does get saved to the mcc when you save a project
its just that you don't see it
so I am now just waiting for a ratchet feature
then it will do all I want
cheers

Hi All ,
I don't think this is possible as it would require too much cpu and the BSP has to deal with 3 sequences all ready.

maybe ratchet on just 1 of the sequencers ?

A nudge feature would consume too much CPU? Seriously?

Kev, I think you need to forget about ratchet making it to the BSP. We got given channel-per-drumpad + real polyrhythm drum tracks and also pattern chaining and saving out of a machine originally spec'ed for not nearly as complex tasks. The machine is maxed out for sure.
I grabbed a Pyramid about two months before the last firmware update for polyrhythms. It's a very complex sequencer and has step-nudge but it doesn't do ratchet. It's also sitting dormant since the last BSP firmware update.
I tried the Zaquencer demo which has ratchet. Not enough time to set the thing up and then experiment before the demo shut-down time so reloaded the original firmware.
Got a 2nd hand Circuit cheap, it's got step-nudge and a nice interface but not as versatile as a Beatstep Pro. No ratchet though.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I was wondering if this was in reply to ratcheting, pattern shifting or both? I'm still holding out hope for pattern shifting. Even if it can only be done while the sequencer is stopped.
Ratcheting I get. Need a UI mechanism to add/edit/remove them, a bunch of run-time code to listen for (active) ratched steps and insert them, possibly a ton of new MIDI data being pushed through the internal pipes...
Manual pattern nudge I don't quite get (but I believe it, so I'm asking for clarification). I obviously don't know anything about the actual code involved in making the magic that is the BSP happen but from the outside it seems like re-ordering an array. And I'm guessing (foolishly, probably) the code to do that is already baked in for other uses. Of course, it's probably a lot more complicated than that!
I get that there are limitations, and like @megamarkd said, this box has already over delivered for me.

I don't see how pattern nudge couldn't be added in some way.
If needed, it could be done only when stopped, or even through the software.
Please Arturia, one last update with this feature on it, you're almost done!
-
This feature is really missing for me as it's very creative and useful ! I have to say that I'm very happy with the BSP but very frustrated to discover that there is no way to do it... I'm sure there is a way to do it ?
I would fully recommand the BSP to every friend of mine with that feature because it would definitly be a complete modern electronic instrument !!!

This is the one thing missing.
-
Please add pattern nudging feature.
-
I just got a BSP and was surprised that this standard feature is not there!
Do we have any official statement from Arturia about this?
-
Nudging is sorely missing.

+1 for pattern nudge!

+1 too

+1000 I thought this would be an existing feature. Definitely needed. I pattern nudge all the time in other devices (Octatrack, Ableton). Why a sophisticated step sequencer wouldn’t have this feature is beguiling. Huge oversight from Arturia. C’mon guys!
